WHITEFISH RESPITE
WINTER FAMILY VACATION
The activities center around skiing, dog sled and snow mobile rides and dude ranch happenings which are supported by contributors and venues throughout Montana, “The Last Best Place”: The numbers after each of the following venues represents the years having been held. Whitefish Mountain Resort (4); Ruby Springs Lodge (4); Averill’s Flathead Lake Lodge (8); and the Bar W Ranch (2). These respites enable the families to get together and if you will, 'reunite'. Last winter Whitefish Ski event was the largest to date. Soldiers & family (29 total) from members of the 1st, 10th, 7th, Special Forces Groups; 2/75th Rangers; 4/160 Aviation and USASOC. The unit mix units draws attention to their interaction in deployment overseas and so it should in respites.
THE ACTIVITIES
The activities center around skiing, dog sled and snow mobile rides at the Whitefish Mountain Resort. The participants stay in Whitefish and are provided with the great hospitality that the area is known for. Soldiers and families (Guests) will fly from their home station to Whitefish, Montana. Rental vehicles will be furnished for their transportation. Hotel is located in Whitefish, Montana. All major costs air travel, motel, most all meals, vehicle rental, ski activities costs including ski lessons and rental, snowmobile touring and other activities available are paid for by SFA Montana This event is the largest that SFA puts on currently. All of which are supported by contributors and venues around Whitefish Montana, “The Last Best Place”
