BENEFITS OF JOINING THE MONTANA SPECIAL FORCES ASSOCIATION
CONTINUE TO SERVE THE SPECIAL FORCES REGIMENT
The fight continues after we redeploy. As we move on to new chapters in our lives we look back at our brothers who are still "Action Guys" and ask ourselves what we can do to help. It seems like the rucksacks keep getting heavier, the deployments longer and the missions more complex. This takes a toll on the teams and their families.
As a member of the the Montana Special Forces Association there are numerous opportunities to continue to serve. Our Respites require planning & support to give our guests the best possible Montana vacation. Without member hosts and guides, it would just be a nice vacation. Through the hands on participation of our members the respites demonstrate that our nation truly values the work the teams are doing downrange.
TRAINING ASSISTANCE
Teams love to train in Montana. It is a big state with a big heart full of veterans. Acting as a local guide, UW training support, Alpine HALO. It's all been done in Montana and SFA 28 was there.
We contribute however we can. Sometimes it is nothing more than opening a gate and allowing a team to slip across your property in the middle of the night. At the other extreme some of us have filled our garages and basements with cots to house multiple teams. All of this is a great way to connect with the current generation of Green Berets and support the Special Forces Regiment as it faces new challenges around the world.
Active duty members are able to tap into the SFA 28 network to find resources for training support. Bringing your team to Montana is a great way to take advantage of training opportunities that aren't available close to post.
